Appealing to end users' concerns about security is extremely important when requesting access to their computer. You can see in this example https://attended.remotepc.com/
at a competitor's website that they have taken extreme measures to assure their users that the software they are being asked to download is safe and in their control. Moreso, they do not clutter the page with other salesy content that confuses them regarding the reason they are visiting this page to begin with. Even more daunting is that even when they find the correct link, not the obvious one front and center, to actually download the software, rather than sign up for an account, they have to enter an email address in order to proceed. All of this adds up to making a user very uneasy about installing attended remote access software, or any other software for that matter.
As an MSP, I am currently using the competitor's landing page for downloading THEIR remote access tool because the landing page that ITarian offers is threatening, overwhelming, burdened with excessive content, and otherwise uninviting. Since I was pushed to make this appeal through the "suggestion box", I'm not withholding my frustration with the apparent arrogance demonstrated by the team to recognize the shortcomings of the current download page for the ITarian Remote Control solution.
I hope as fellow administrators, salespersons, or other entrepreneurial types, that you would want to not only assuage the concerns of new clients, but also align yourself as much as possible with a single platform for your service delivery. Please upvote this request.
Considering that until the download page for the ITarian Remote Control application, or an alternative just to support this cause, is produced, I will be forced to continue to use a competitor's product.
